On June 17, 2014, GICJ delivered a statement during the annual Panel discussion on women's rights. GICJ warned that armed conflicts belong to the most devastating factors for women's rights and that especially in Iraq women still suffer from the consequences years after an illegal war and occupation. The international community must take a firm stand against such violations, GICJ held, in order to ensure that such crimes do not happen again.
