Shadi Khoury, a Palestinian boy aged 16, was brutally and wantonly arrested by the Israeli occupation forces on the 18th of October 2022. Without legitimate legal representation, Shadi's detention has been extended three times.

The latest information sets Shadi’s release on Thursday, the 27th of October 2022. Like his arrest and detention, these extensions were not based on any charges. It is therefore doubtful whether he will be released on that date.

Geneva International Centre for Justice (GICJ) continues to denounce the illegal, brutal, and unjustified arrest and detention of Shadi Khoury. We recall that the case of the teenager is not an isolated one. We are concerned about the ongoing and systemic human rights violations suffered by the Palestinian people in the occupied areas, and we urge the international community to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to stop these illegal actions.

We thank Kristen Hills for elaborating and sharing this video and call on everyone to share it more widely to raise awareness about the illegal arrest and detention of Shadi Khoury.

Further news will be shared on our social media. Stay tuned!
