GICJ Oral Statement with EAFORD

The interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in the Tigray region of Ethiopia was held on the 7th of March 2022. It began with a statement of Ms Michelle Bachelet, The High Commissioner for Human Rights, giving an update on the situation and discussing the progress made by her office (OHCHR) and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission in their joint investigation into human rights abuses committed in the region.

In an oral statement, delivered by Tiril Andresen on behalf of the Geneva International Centre for Justice (GICJ) and the International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (EAFORD), great concern was expressed about the grave situation in the Tigray region as the level of forced displacement and fatalities in the region continues to rise.
